Kaohsiung National Stadium: getting there, tickets and where to stay
The stadium in Zuoying hosts BTS on Thursday 19, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026, and the Asia Artist Awards on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December. Its own MRT station, the real name ticket rule for the BTS shows, and the three districts worth sleeping in.
The short answer: Kaohsiung National Stadium, in Zuoying in the north of the city, has its own station, World Games station on the Kaohsiung MRT Red line, one stop from Zuoying, where the high speed rail arrives. That one fact settles most of a concert trip: ride the MRT in and out, sleep somewhere on the Red line, and let the ticket rules, not the transport, be the thing you read twice. Two stadium bookings anchor the season ahead, set out below with what is and is not yet published for each.
The two bookings
| Event | Dates | Tickets, as published |
|---|---|---|
| BTS World Tour ARIRANG in Kaohsiung | Thursday 19, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026 | NT$2,980 to NT$7,980, with a VIP package at NT$9,380; sold through tixCraft under a real name system |
| Asia Artist Awards 2026 in Kaohsiung | Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026 | Ticketing details follow the organiser's announcements; no price has been published in our sources |
Note the shape of the BTS run before you book a hotel around it: three separate concert nights, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with no show on the Friday. A Thursday night ticket pairs with a long weekend in the city; a weekend ticket pairs with the Friday spent seeing Kaohsiung rather than travelling.
Getting there: the Red line does the work
The stadium stands by World Games station, R17 on the Red line. From the south of the city the ride is a straight run north up the Red line; from the high speed rail, Zuoying station is the next MRT stop to the south, so the national rail network effectively delivers you to the stadium's door. On a concert night, everyone leaves at once, and the MRT is built for exactly that: follow the crowd to World Games station, expect to queue, and do not plan a tight onward connection for the same night. Our advice is to stay the night in Kaohsiung after any stadium show, and to treat a same night run back up the island as a plan that a delayed encore can break. The full rail picture is on our getting there page.
Tickets and entry, for the BTS nights
The promoter, Live Nation Taiwan, states the rules plainly, and they are stricter than a casual buyer may expect. Tickets for the BTS shows are sold through a real name system via tixCraft, and Live Nation names tixCraft as the only officially authorised ticketing platform. Entry requires the valid ticket and the original photo ID matching it, checked before entry. Published prices run from NT$2,980 to NT$7,980, with the VIP package at NT$9,380. The practical consequences: buy only through the official platform, in the name of the person who will actually attend, carry that person's ID on the night, and treat any unofficial offer of tickets for these shows with the suspicion the promoter itself advises. For the Asia Artist Awards in December, the honest position is shorter: the dates and the stadium are announced, and ticketing follows the organiser's own announcements, so any seller claiming prices before then is ahead of the organiser.
Where to stay
Our hotels page sets out Kaohsiung's bases, and a stadium night rearranges their order rather than replacing it. Zuoying is the functional choice: closest to the stadium, on the Red line, and beside the high speed rail, with quieter evenings as the trade. Yancheng and the Pier-2 district are the harbour choice, for the art centre, the old warehouses and the ferries to Cijin, a Red line ride south of the stadium. Lingya and the Sanduo area are the downtown choice, for the malls and the metro interchange. Because the MRT crosses the city well, the decision is about your evenings away from the stadium, not about reaching it: pick the district you want to eat and wander in, and let the Red line handle the concert. Book early for the BTS weekend in particular: three stadium nights in four days is the kind of booking that fills a city's well placed rooms, and the December awards weekend follows a fortnight later. The Kaohsiung city guide covers what else is on in the city across both weekends.
