Hualien County's summer takeover of Liyu Lake adds themed installations, free water activities and a night water and light show to the east coast's largest inland lake.

About this event
Expected dates. The Hualien County Government's 2026 edition ran at Liyu Lake from 11 July to 16 August, with free water activities including stand up paddleboarding, water bikes and bumper boats, so a similar mid July to mid August run is expected in 2027. The 2026 edition added a fifteen metre anime ship installation and character displays with a nighttime water and light show, the county's first use of an international anime property in its summer programming. The lake also offers cycling around its shore and boat hire outside the event programme. Entry to the event is free.
