About this event
Expected dates. Kaohsiung stages its lantern festival as the Kaohsiung Wonderland winter carnival around Love River Bay and the harbour piers, with a licensed character IP theme, a giant inflatable installation and a small lantern giveaway for children. The 2026 edition ran from 7 February to 1 March 2026 at Love River Bay and piers 16 to 18 of Kaohsiung Port. The 2027 window follows the same shape, opening the Saturday a week before Lunar New Year and closing on the last Sunday of February, the day after the Peace Memorial Day weekend begins. Kaohsiung City Government confirms the IP theme and dates late in the year.
