About this event
Expected dates. The New Taipei Lantern Festival, listed in the Tourism Administration's 2026 to 2027 biennial calendar of major events, fills New Taipei Metropolitan Park beside the Erchong floodway in Sanchong with themed lantern zones and food markets. The 2026 edition ran from 20 February to 8 March, opening with two preview nights before the official lighting. The 2027 window mirrors that shape across the Lantern Festival period, ending on the same Sunday as the national festival in Miaoli. New Taipei City confirms dates and the main lantern design early in the year.
