About this event
Expected dates. Pingtung runs one of Taiwan's longest lantern festivals, with forty or more installations spread across the Wannian Creek, County Citizen Park, Shengli Star Village and Hakka zones of Pingtung City. The 2026 edition ran for 45 days from 23 January to 8 March, opening well before Lunar New Year. The 2027 window mirrors that long season, from the Friday about two weeks before Lunar New Year (6 February 2027) to the Sunday after Lantern Festival. Pingtung County Government confirms zones and dates in January.
