About this event
RELATIONAL TIME is Daito Manabe's first major overseas solo exhibition, curated by Joel Kwong of Hong Kong's Microwave International New Media Arts Festival. New works fill Exhibition Rooms A, B and C, where artificial life systems, AI agents and a synthetic brain built from a fruit fly connectome respond to visitors' movements in real time. Manabe is known for the Tokyo handover presentation at the Rio 2016 Olympic closing ceremony and for collaborations with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Perfume, Björk and CERN. The exhibition's sound systems were shipped from Japan to meet the artist's specifications.
