About this event
The exhibition surveys how Sakamoto moved beyond music into spatial installation, working across sound, image, digital technology and the natural world. Seven large-scale installations are shown alongside archival materials, including material connected with his 1999 opera LIFE. Long-term collaborators represented include Shiro Takatani, Daito Manabe, Carsten Nicolai, Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Zakkubalan, and the curator is Sachiko Namba. Works use water, fog, meteorological data and electromagnetic waves to test the limits of human perception.
