Expected dates. The Beigang Lantern Festival, listed at national level in the Tourism Administration's 2026 to 2027 biennial calendar, spreads ten lantern zones through the old streets of Beigang and the Shuidaotou Cultural Park, tied to the Mazu faith centred on Chaotian Temple, where Lantern Festival is one of the temple's two great annual occasions. The 2026 edition ran across the Lantern Festival period in late February and early March. The 2027 window covers the week before Lantern Festival (20 February) through the Sunday after the national festival ends. Yunlin County Government confirms zones and dates in the new year.
