About this event
Expected dates. The Ministry of Culture records that the festival's ceremonies are held from the eighteenth to the twentieth day of the seventh lunar month each year at the Baozhong Yimin Temple in Xinpu, with the main rite on the twentieth. Converted to the Gregorian calendar for 2027, the ceremonies fall from 19 to 21 August, with the main day on 21 August, and the conversions are calculated from the lunar dates published by the Ministry of Culture. The Yimin faith is the first Hakka cultural asset designated as national folk heritage, and fifteen community unions from Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City and Taoyuan rotate as hosts. The temple was established in 1790 and the festival has been held since 1835.
