Expected dates. Tainan City's official tourism chronology places the Meiling Firefly Season in the April to May slot of the annual calendar, in the plum growing hills of Nanxi District. Guided evening walks are the usual format, with numbers managed to protect the habitat. The 2027 season is expected to run through April and May on the same pattern, with exact arrangements announced by the district closer to the season.
