About this event
The Nanheng Ultramarathon sends runners from Guanshan up the Southern Cross-Island Highway towards the Wulu Gorge, one of Taiwan's great mountain road climbs. The national road running calendar lists the 2027 edition on Saturday 13 March 2027. The event is a rare chance to run a highway that spends long periods closed or controlled for ordinary visitors. It draws ultrarunners looking for altitude and gorge scenery in the east rift valley corridor.
