About this event
Expected dates. The Tainan International Dragon Boat Championships race at night on the Tainan Canal between Anyi Bridge and Chengtian Bridge in Anping, opening with a river worship ceremony. Tainan City Sports Bureau's official circular for the 2026 edition gives five days of racing, from Wednesday 17 June to Sunday 21 June 2026, opening two days before Dragon Boat Festival. The 2027 window applies the same pattern to the 2027 festival on Wednesday 9 June: opening on Monday 7 June and closing on Friday 11 June. The bureau opens team registration in March and confirms the programme in the spring. Spectating from the canal banks is free.
