About this event
Expected dates. The Tourism Administration lists the 2026 festival from 4 July to 20 August at Luye Highland, and the event has run for a similar seven week summer window in recent years, so a comparable early July to late August run is expected in 2027. The Travel Channel named it one of the world's top 12 hot air balloon festivals in 2018. Daily flying sessions take place in the early morning and late afternoon when the air is calm, and shaped character balloons are a signature draw. Tethered rides and the night glow concerts are ticketed or capacity limited, while general admission to the highland is free.
