Kinmen Travel, the county tourism site, lists the 2026 Lieyu Township Taro Festival with event dates from 1 September to 30 November 2026, and notes that the Lieyu taro season runs from mid autumn to December every year. Lieyu, also called Little Kinmen, grows taro in mineral rich red clay, and the crop is known for a soft, creamy texture. During the season visitors join taro digging, interactive games and markets, and taste taro dishes and products including taro pork, taro congee, taro noodles, fried taro, taro pastry and taro ice.
