About this event
Labour Day is fixed on 1 May. In 2027 it falls on a Saturday, so the DGPA calendar moves the rest day forward to Friday 30 April, giving private sector workers a three day weekend from 30 April to 2 May. Government offices do not close for Labour Day, but banks, schools in the private system and most companies do. Cities see May Day rallies in Taipei and a short domestic travel peak.
