About this event
The published Taiwan holiday calendar lists Mid-Autumn Festival as a national holiday on Wednesday 15 September 2027, the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month. Families gather to admire the full moon, eat mooncakes and pomelos, and give gift boxes of pastries to friends and business contacts. In Taiwan the holiday is also known for outdoor barbecues, a custom that has spread from household gatherings to streets and riverside parks. Because the 2027 holiday falls midweek as a single day off, city parks and waterfronts are the focus rather than long distance travel.
