About this event
Penghu marks the Lantern Festival with qigui, the rite of begging a rice or gold turtle from temple gods for luck in the year ahead. The Penghu County Cultural Affairs Bureau ran a museum qigui event on the weekend before the 2026 Lantern Festival and a county stamp rally from Lantern Day itself. The 2027 dates mirror that Lantern weekend, 19 to 21 February 2027, centred on the 20 February festival day. Temple events are free to watch and join.
