About this event
The Tourism Administration selected Miaoli County to host the 2027 Taiwan Lantern Festival, and the festival's official national lantern competition site lists the exhibition period as 20 February to 7 March 2027, sixteen days opening on Lantern Festival itself. Miaoli County Government announced the same dates, the theme of slow living between mountains and sea, and main venues around the Miaoli high speed rail station area in Houlong, with Zhunan and Toufen sports parks in the preliminary plan. The county last hosted in 2011. Entry to the lantern zones is free, and the county's own Lantern Festival folk events, including the Bombing Dragon, run alongside.
