About this event
Tomb Sweeping Day is set on the Qingming solar term day, which in 2027 is Monday 5 April, and is a public holiday in the DGPA calendar. Families clean ancestral graves, make offerings and eat spring rolls and herb rice cakes, and the long weekend from 3 to 6 April is a major homecoming travel period. The date is not lunar: Qingming is one of the 24 solar terms and falls on 4 or 5 April each year. Roads to cemeteries and columbaria are heavily congested and many sites run shuttle buses.
